 CASS COUNTY FAIR DATES:

SUNDAY, AUGUST 1 THROUGH SATURDAY, AUGUST 7

 

 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

 

IMPORTANT            All exhibits must be in place by 11:00 a.m. Monday of the Fair and remain in place until 10:00 p.m. the last day of the Fair.  You may set your booths up starting Thursday  prior to the fair only if okayed by the space manager, all other hours will be form 8:30 a m to 6:00 p m Friday , Saturday and Sunday  prior to opening of fair.   Commercial exhibits and buildings are open from 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m doing fair week. Gate fees start at 8:00 a.m. each day.  Final payment for exhibit space and insurance MUST BE RECEIVED PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF GATE PASSES!

Bicycles or any motor driven cycles are not allowed on the fairgrounds.  They must be parked in designated fenced areas located at the entrance gates.  The only exceptions to this rule are motorcycle type vehicles used for security or Fair business designated by a Fair director.  Persons having exhibits or concessions are not considered on Fair business; however vehicles will be allowed by  permit basis only before 11:00am of fair week!.

GATE FEE            Commercial exhibitor passes furnished per contract agreement.  Limit of four (4) additional exhibitor passes @ $15.00 each will be allowed if obtained with final payment on opening day or before.

 

INSURANCE            Each exhibitor or concessionaire is required to have public liability and property damage insurance coverage.  An insurance certificate, with a valid signature assigning the Cass Co. Fair as additionally insured,  MUST BE PRESENTED with final payment of contract on opening day of the Fair.  If a certificate is not available the Fair Association will add the price of insurance coverage to your contract  and payment will be required in full prior to issuance of gate passes !

DRAPES            All booths in the Commercial Building and Grandstand are divided by 30” high side walls with 8’ high drapes in back.

 

UTILITIES            Booths and tents are furnished with 110/115V in the general fee.  220V hook-up will be provided by the Association’s electrician for a fee.  Fee will be charged on the contract or at hook-up time.

 

RULES GOVERNING BOOTHS AND MIDWAY CONCESSIONS

 

1.  No refund of Deposit within 30 days of opening of Fair.

 

2.  All communications regarding space or privileges should be addressed to the Space Manager.

 

3.  Definite spaces will be leased to applicant upon contract, specifying size and location and the use to be made of it.  Change of position will not be allowed and items not listed on the contract cannot be added without consent of the Manager.  Each lessee shall occupy his premises and no more.  Failure to do so will subject they to forfeiture of their space.

 

4.  The Association reserves the right to close for cause, any stand, show or booth or to terminate any privilege held or used in violation of these rules.

 

5.  The Manager shall have complete control of the sale and management of privileges of all kinds.  They shall collect all the moneys for insurance , camping ,  rent and give receipts for same.

 

 

 

 

6.  All concessionaires shall post in a conspicuous manner at the front entrance of place of business, a sign showing the price to be charged for meals, lunches, drinks and other articles of food for sale.

 

7.  All retail sales including those of non-profit organizations are subject to Michigan sales tax which will be collected by the State during fair week.

 

8.  The Manager shall inspect the premises and grounds sold for privileges and any person found violating the laws of the State of Michigan or the rules of the Board, or in any way not complying with the terms and limitations of the above prescribed contract, shall be compelled to comply with same or cease all transactions on the premises.

 

9.  Purchasers of privileges will be required to keep their spaces in a clean condition by removing any liter from their space and placing it in containers where the sanitation workers of the Association may get at it with ease.

 

10.  Concessions will be sold and spaces assigned to each applicant at any time before the Fair, and all spaces and privileges shall be paid for in full no later than the opening day of the Fair, and if not settled for in full by said day, the Manager reserves the right to resell said space to anyone.

 

11.  No space will be assigned anyone during the days of the Fair, unless previously engaged and settled for in full, and no concession will be sold after the third day of the Fair.  This rule will be strictly adhered to.

 

12.  The Lessor, Cass County Fair Association, assumes no liability for loss or damage due to fire, tornado, weather conditions or any other causes beyond the control of the lessor.

 

13.  Side walls of booths are required to be of no more than four (4) feet high.  See through material may be used if accepted by the Association.

 

14.  Camping will be allowed only in designated areas as prescribed by the Camping Committee.

 

 

 

FOOD CONCESSION RULES

 

 

 

1.  All food concessions must abide by Michigan Department of Agriculture Regulation No 556: “Food Concessions at State and County Fairs” and obtain a Food Concession license with the Department of Agriculture.  A copy of these rules is available at the Secretary’s office.

 

2.  No waste water of any kind will be allowed to be disposed of on driveways, walkways, or in water-shed drains.  A device to prevent backflow of water is required on each water service line.  A waste dump station is located at Maint. Building and Southwest corner of draft horse arena.

 

3.  All meats sold through concession must be Federally inspected meat.

 

The management and directors of the Cass County Fair Association reserve the final and absolute right to interpret the rules and regulations incident to the operation of the Fair and related activities at all times.  To promote a pleasant and carefree atmosphere, no lessee shall conduct any portion of its operations outside the space leased to it, nor shall any person, group or corporation conduct business, distribute samples or printed material, or make any solicitation or presentation of any nature on the Cass County Fairgrounds except within the areas leased by it.

 

These rules are to be considered a legal supplement to the signed contract between lessee and lessor and are understood, read and agreed upon by both parties involved.

 

We of the Cass County Fair Association are glad to have you with us.  May we all cooperate and continue to show our hospitality to those attending the Fair.  Their pleasure and satisfaction will insure a better Fair each year, which is our goal.
